Hi there.
This is my first posting.
I have recently started the complete re-assembly of an early 1927 Clifton bodied 12/4 that I purchased in a dismantled state some 43 years ago. I expect to be a frequent Forum user.
I have been making enquiries for the purchase of a new inner and outer Speedometer Cable to fit the standard Smiths silver face A type trip unit.
I have tried Willie MacKenzie but he says he no longer caters for Heavy Twelves having passed all onto Steve Newton at VAR spares.
So has anyone any leads as to where these can now be obtained.
Many thanks.
Mitch

Re: Speedometer Cables
Just an update on this thread.
A new speedometer cable was purchased from Tom Titterton at Vintage Car Repairs Derbyshire. The complete inner and outer cable was the correct length and had the correct end fitments to attach to the Speedo end and the gearbox drive end. There was no requirement to specify lengths or type of end fitments.
The supplied cable fitted perfectly without any need for fettling or ajustment.
Job done.
