Restoration of Arthur & Ada - a Tale of two Austins.
I’m getting there!
Arthur’s Chassis is almost rolling - just the wooden packers to fit to the front springs & u bolts to tighten.

Restoration of Arthur & Ada - a Tale of two Austins.
I collected a large part of bodywork for Arthur today - only missing the front doors and posts.
Lots of work but easier than making it all from scratch.
I will need all the glass as well if anyone has any spare.

Re: Restoration of Arthur & Ada - a Tale of two Austins.
Arthur is now a rolling chassis and was seen at the last VAR National Rally in 2019.
I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea - but it is saving another Austin 12/4 from becoming spares.
It is almost ready and is already registered with DVLA and insured.
All the body has been hand built in aluminium with only simple hand tools.
The chassis is completely standard, along with the engine & gearbox, axles, brakes & wheels. The only change is the twin SU carbs and the exhaust manifold & pipe - I also lightened flywheel.
I can’t wait to have Ada running an have a drive.
Watch this space.
I put Arthur into temporary storage so that I could work on my other Austin 12/4 Ada.
Ada is being built into a race car in the spirit of what could have been built in period for amateur racing built by hand. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea - but it is saving another Austin 12/4 from becoming spares.
