Engine Removal Cheat

Post by Fuzz Townshend »

Hello all,
Has anyone swerved the slightly long-winded engine removal process by removing the front crossmember rivets and replacing them with bolts?
Call me a scoundrel for suggesting such a thing, and indeed there may be reasons why this won’t work, but an early morning ‘eureka’ moment has led me to expose my wicked ways in the world of modifications.

I didn’t cheat in the end.
One unexpected (by me) problem was a much peined rear engine mounting bolt, which must have been dancing about for some time and was therefore irregularly shaped and a devil to remove.
