I have just stripped the rear axle on the 1928 12/4 I am restoring and have found that the bevel gear pinion is broken on all three legs which has resulted in damage to the Gears
They are part number AO128 & AO129
They do not appear to be on the VAR spares list
I do have 2 spare pinions but both have a larger diameter where the Gears fit and are too hard to machine down and the Gears are also rock hard so can't be bored out to fit.
I assume the ones I have are from a later car.
Any help with these parts would be much appreciated.

Re: Wanted Diff Bevel Gears and Diff Pinion
Just a quick update.
I made a call to Tony Smallbone and bingo - he found me 3 bevel gears and a pinion within 24 hours.
When I went to collect them we discussed the state of the carriers whch have signs of damage and he has now phoned to say he has found me a replacement along with som front brake backplates which I need for my restoration.
Tony is a star! And his collection of Austins is truly amazing.
Having had time to reflect on the damaged axle I have come to the conclusion that this failure was the reason the car was left to rot for 50 years - this project is defiantly like solving a mystery.
