Drag Link Play

Just joined the forum. I have vertical movement in the n/s drag link end - no horizontal play (1925 12/4 Clifton). Can this be adjusted out or is a new drag link end required. It is probably the original component from when it left Longbridge 100 years ago.

If it's N/S did you mean track rod rather than drag link? So far as I'm aware horizontal play can be adjusted with shims. Vertical play would suggest excessive wear. Whilst it may be possible to cure the problem by lapping in with grinding paste I would recommend changing the ball and cups. You need to talk to Steve Newton, the VAR spares man.
