Austin 12/4 model identification

Hi,
I'm seeking guidance on how to identify which year my Austin 12/4 was manufactured in. I inherited the vehicle from my father who identified it as a 1927 model but I have conflicting information that it may be a 1926 model also where would I find the chassis and body number on the vehicle.

Are there any records of model numbers against years that have survived for these cars? Registration issue dates?

Presumably you can narrow it down to a fairly narrow window by looking at the cars spec/body/etc but then it sometimes becomes a bit of a finger in the air game maybe? I don't, new to this!
