Hi guys,
Just need to know how much vertical movement there should be on the central float valve spindle.
16/6 Brass carb info needed
Re: 16/6 Brass carb info needed
Hello Humphrey
I'm surprised no one with a 16 has replied by now. I don't have one so what I am about to write may be completely irrelevant but here goes.
I've just been out to the garage and put a dial gauge on the bronze Zenith 36FZ fitted to my 20/4. With the float chamber lid in its normal running position the float valve needle has a travel of 0.105". Given that there must be at least 5 thou wear on the pointed end of the needle I would say a nominal 0.1". Also bear in mind that the Zenith company was French and therefore the carburettors are likely to be metric so 2.5mm travel. But the difference is only about 1.5 thou!
Hope that helps
Martin
