DYNAMO CHARGING

Post by Ray Amos »

I have a 1933 Austin 16.Recently the dynamo has started to charge when the ignition/light switch is in the off position. It has 4 positions ...OFF D S H .Has anybody had this before? On top of the dynamo there is a bakelite unit with a brass top,the wire coil inside gets very hot.
Any ideas would be useful.
Thanks
Ray

I can only imagine that the contacts in the regulator box have stuck together. If left unattended it could cause a fire unless there is a fuse in the circuit. A good auto electrician should be consulted.
