It is always a good idea to check the earth connection from the battery to the chassis first. I have been caught out several times. An underrated positive lead is also a common problem if it has been replaced.

I fitted new sealed bearings on the front axle recently, so no more greasing there for me. Incredible low price from Bearingboys.co.uk. Oddly, the larger one is metric.

I hope that the only cracking is in the head and not the block. The block usually cracks the side on the 16/6 just above the core plugs. Is it a Mulliner body?

I looked at the last member's details and unable to tell if it is a conversion or original body. The door cards and running boards look vile.
Wonder who made the body?

Forgot to mention the obvious. There should be two rings showing on the other end of the wingnut screw. They should be filled with grease. (circulated with an internal paddle)
