It is always a good idea to check the earth connection from the battery to the chassis first. I have been caught out several times. An underrated positive lead is also a common problem if it has been replaced.

you are lucky that you have the rear doors as the front would be easier to make. You will need to make the body chassis which is made up of straight lengths riveted to the uprights. I fitted new sealed bearings on the front axle recently, so no more greasing there for me. Incredible low price from Bearingboys.co.uk. Oddly, the larger one is metric.

Sadly, after all that work, the judder is still there. Any tips for correcting? I expect to take the gearbox off again. :(

I hope that the only cracking is in the head and not the block. The block usually cracks the side on the 16/6 just above the core plugs. I looked at the last member's details and unable to tell if it is a conversion or original body. The door cards and running boards look vile.

Forgot to mention the obvious. There should be two rings showing on the other end of the wingnut screw. They should be filled with grease. (circulated with an internal paddle)
