The solution which worked for me was to soak the felts in engine oil then squeeze them tightly in a smooth jaw vice for a few minutes. They then become fairly rigid. My 1926 Clifton rebuild has now been going on for many many years but we're now on the last lap, having gathered together most of the missing parts required.
I am, however,desperately trying to find a PASSENGER SIDE GLOVE BOX in serviceable condition.
Please can someone help me.

Please can someone who has needed a replacement HOOD & TONNEAU give me the name of a reliable organisation who can make these items.
I have a new hood frame but no old hood which can be used as a pattern.
Any information would be appreciated.

I am using old studs and have cleaned the threads with a die nut.

I purchased new nuts from an engineering supply company.

As I said, 35 - 40 lbs ft, gently does it !!!!

I was once told that cylinder head nuts should be tightened "by a big man with a 12" spanner", 35 - 40 lbs ft sounds better and will be much more consistent !
