Re: 16/6 fan belt availability
Thanks for link Martin, I had seen those belts and they do offer a 780mm x 20mm which would be OK. The problem is that they are only 1mm thick, not sure that would be OK. My current belt is around two or three mm thick.

Re: 16/6 fan belt availability
To answer my own question I have measured the belt length required at 780mm and plenty of belts are available in that size. Although the width is reduced, so I expect I will buy a toothed belt and turn it inside out so the teeth are showing outside.

16/6 fan belt availability
Any leads please as to where I may purchase the fan belt to fit my 1934 16/6 (chrome rad)
My one in current use looks good but I would like to carry a spare.

Re: Difficult Gearchange
On my 16/6 I have the tick over set low enough to see the red ignition light glow. Starting the engine I use the hand throttle to set the slightly higher engine speed. As the engine warms I then reduce the hand throttle as required back to the red ignition light glowing on tick over. I don’t think I...

Re: Difficult Gearchange
Hello Kernow, is this a problem that has become apparent recently or is it an ongoing problem? Did you manage to carry out your gear changes quietly and smoothly before in the car?

Re: Water pump failure
Thank you for all replies. The small leak from top hose I have now sorted out, emery paper around the cylinder head junction with new clips made an easy fix. Seems I have an air lock now as top hose gets hot and bottom hose cold. I did by a thermostat for the engine bay but not fitted yet, so a very...

Re: Water pump failure
Thanks for reply Martin, I will have a look today. I have found a small weep on the top hose where it joins the cylinder head, tiny amount of water though.
