If no one has the actual answer to this I suggest you buy some thread gauges, find out the tpi and profile and then get the appropriate thread file.

Sun roof

Hello all, The sun roof on my '36 light 12/4 Ascot has been blanked off at some time in the past. Has anyone got any drawings, photos, instructions or notes regarding the design of this please? I doubt if the construction changed much from the heavy 12 to the light. I also need to know what fittings...

I agree, you need to get back to basics, compression test, timing check. Disconnect accelerator linkage and choke, check the throttle butterfly is completely closed.

Great video. I did the same yesterday in the lovely sunshine and after a good wash down of the roads in the morning with rain to get rid of the salt. Just fitted new brake rods and pins to prevent grab and I'm pleased to say that worked. Also just fitted new input (sealed)/output (not sealed) shaft ...

Running too rich?
Not sure what your ignition system is but if points could be a faulty condenser (sometimes get upset when hot).

When I put my car back on the road after many years laid up the tank was heavily scaled and porous in places. I got some descaler and degreaser and a proprietary tank sealer for petrol. I removed the tank, took out the level sensor and made a blank. Made a plug for the filler, put some gravel inside...
